Pakistan International School Jeddah (Azizia) cricketers accomplished another sporting accolade when they clinched My Care Under-17 Inter-School Championship for the season 2008-09 here. The strong contenders virtually dominated in all aspect of the game to wrap up a 90-run victory over Hala International School Jeddah. The tournament was sponsored by My Care Medical Center and organized by Western Province Cricket Association. Sameer Nidal Khan (General Manager, My Care Medical Center), Ejaz Ahmed (Marketing Manager), Nadeem Nadwi (CEO, SCC) and Ashfaq Ahmed, (Principal, PISJ) distributed the prizes to the winner, runner-up and top performers in front of a big crowd who witnessed the final. Building up PISJ innings at a massive rate, the strong opening pair of Mohammed Mohsin and Usman Khan exhibited another stellar performance. Mohsin smashed the bowlers of Hala in a destructive mood. He scored a rapid 128 with eight boundaries. This was Mohsin's second consecutive quick hundred, which thrilled the crowd. Enjoying an opening partnership of 183 runs, Usman produced a blistering knock of 70 runs from 32 deliveries while Tufail and Immad scored (16) and (27) respectively. PISJ raced to a mammoth 271, the biggest total in any final of inter-school Twenty20 competitions so far. Fahim Afrad and Emad got one wicket each. Hala's batsmen found the chase harder than the score on the board would have suggested, and were never able to get their noses in front of the asking rate. Ali Zaman, playing a captain's innings, gave some hope with 48 runs supported by Safwan (40), Usama (27) and Emad (14). Hala was bowled out for 175 runs in 20th over. Immad Shams of PISJ took 3 for 42 and Tufail 2 for 33. The second semifinal petered out into a no-show as International Indian School Jeddah gave a walkover to Hala International School due to the annual examinations. Awards: Bangladesh Int.
