Nasr, Al-Ittifaq, Al-Shabab and Al-Fateh qualified for the quarterfinals of the Crown Prince Cup after recording victories in their first round matches on Saturday. Results of the first round had no surprises except Al-Fateh's victory which saw the first division team advancing to the quarterfinals for the first time in the team's history. Al-Fateh's win was special as the Al-Ahsa side beat five time winner Al-Ahli 2-1 at the Prince Abdullah Bin Jalawi Stadium. After a goalless draw, Sadiq Al-Eid put the home side ahead in the 61st minute before Hani Al-Debaini doubled Al-Fateh's lead in the 83rd minute by scoring from the spot. In the dying time, Naif Hazazi pulled one goal back for Al-Ahli but it was not enough to stop Al-Fateh sealing the quarterfinal ticket. Al-Fateh now will play Al-Shabab which also qualified following a 2-1 win over Abha. Abha took the lead first through Marjei Al-Yami in the 19th minute but Brazilian Camatcho equalized for Al-Shabab seven minutes later. Naif Al-Qadi sealed the win shortly after the break. In another match, Al-Nasr won 2-0 over Al-Feha'a, thanks to Elton and Hossam Ghaly's second half goals. Al-Nasr has to wait until Sunday to meet the winner of Al-Raed and Al-Ittihad clash. At the Prince Fasial Bin Fahd Stadium, Al-Ittifaq also edged Al-Riyadh with a 3-0 victory. Ghanaian Prince Tagoe scored first for Dammam side in the 52nd minute before Moroccan Salahu Dain Eqal doubled his side's lead ten minutes later. Abdul Rahman Al-Qahtni completed the scoresheet in the 92nd minute. Al-Ittifaq will fly to Al-Rass to play Al-Hazm in the quarterfinals. Al-Hazm qualified after beating Najran 1-0 last Friday. In another match held in Madina, Brazilian Harrison led Al-Wehdah to earn a 1-0 victroy over Al-Ansr at the Prince Mohammed Bin Abdul Aziz Sports City. On Sunday, the first round concludes with two clashes. Al-Watani hosts defending champion Al-Hilal in Tabuk while Al-Ittihad hosts Al-Raed at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium in Jeddah.
