Korea-Philippine Friendship Games a big hit

Philippine Friendship Games Bowling Tournament 2008 hosted by the Korean Bowling Group (KGB) turned out to be a big hit.
The event was organized by the Filipino Bowling Group of Riyadh (FBGR), was held under the chairmanship of Jerry Austria, and the Korean Community.
During the simple opening and closing ceremonies, Lee Shin-Young, president, Korean Community; First Lady, Mrs. Lee Byungin, representing H.E. Hong Jong-ki, Korean Ambassador to the Kingdom; Consul General, Philippine Embassy, Victor M. Israel, extended their thanks and appreciation to the players and the two communities.
During the competition, Team No. 3 consisting of Mhay Elias, Mae Austria, Lee Kyung Ja, Choi Young-Joo, and Lee Myung-Hee captured the team event title.
The first runner-up was Team No. 2 of Gina Buyson, Jane Buenaventura, Betsy Costumbrado, Kwon Hyuk-Ju and Hwang Young-Ho, while the 2nd runner-up team was Team No. 6 consisting of Blessy Babasa, Naima Valdez, Lita Ortiz and Shon Mi Shook.
Standing of other teams: 3rd runner-up: Team No. 1 with members Lee Ri Ja, Song Jum-Sook, Lee Hae-Seon, Cynthia Bacala and Rina Labo. 4th runner-up: Team No. 5 composed of Prima Abulencia, Dalhia Al-Nasleh, Dan Haj-Ja, Lee Won Hee and Baik Young Sook. 5th runner-up: Team No. 4 of Juliet de Asis, Regina Pascual, Luz Quindara, Kim Soon –Yeol and Shin Kyoung-Ah.
Meanwhile, in the singles event, Betsy Costumbrado of RP Ladies team bagged the title by posting a series of 689 in four games.
Landing in the second place was Mhay Elias with 658 points, while securing the third spot was Shon Mi Shook with 653 points.
