King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, will lead the Kingdom's delegation to the first Arab socioeconomic summit to be opened in Kuwait Monday. The situation in Gaza is expected to dominate the summit's deliberations as per the recommendations of Arab foreign ministers who have unanimously decided in their ministerial meeting that the first session be fully devoted to the issue. The Arab leaders are expected to give their consent to the draft resolution submitted by Arab foreign ministers on Gaza confirming the commitment of Arab leaders to the reconstruction of Gaza in coordination with the Palestinian Authority. It is estimated to cost about $2 billion. The draft resolution also called for providing additional aid worth $500 million to the Palestinian Authority to enable it to deal with all emergency humanitarian and health operations in Gaza. Jassim Al-Mubarki, Director of the Arab Countries Dept. at the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry, said two new issues have been added to the already agreed topics on the agenda: The first session to be fully devoted to discussing the situation in Gaza while the second one refers to adding to the summit's slogan the phrase, “The Summit of Solidarity with Gaza.” __
