Iran's Intelligence Minister says a BBC Persian-language television channel that was to launch Wednesday is a “security threat” to Iran. The official IRNA news agency quotes Gholam Hossein Mohseini Ejehi as saying Iran will take “necessary measures” to deal with the impending television channel. He didn't specify what Iran will do. BBC has said the Persian channel will be seen in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan and elsewhere and dismissed Iranian claims that it will be used to recruit spies.
