The Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the GACA is enforcing the ban in compliance with a decision of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to ban liquids in order to ensure the safety of passengers. “The Kingdom has signed treaties with the ICAO which require us to implement the organization's decisions,” said Al-Zahrani. Passengers should cooperate, he said, with the inspection teams that will be in charge of using special equipment to check carry-on luggage.
