Bautista, Pua rule Haj Goodwill Games

RIYADH — Ronald Bautista and Irene Pua bagged the Masters' Event title in the Men's and Ladies' Divisions respectively in the 2015 Haj Goodwill Games held at the Universal Bowling Center here.
Bautista topped the Masters qualifying games and needed just one game to win over Rodel Maranca (2nd) in the step-ladder matches. Other winners in the men's division were Dong Yamco (3rd), Stephen Solomon (4th) and Andro Tismo (5th).
In the Ladies Division, Pua came from behind and had to win twice over top qualifier Rachel Tismo (2nd) to snatch the crown. Haidee Urbano is third in the Ladies Masters Event.
In the Team Event, Unica composed of Bautista, Andro Tismo, Joel Batolina and Edwin Atienza took the crown. Habagat (Solomon, Ernee Noto, Steve Perez and Alfred Valencia) was 2nd, KKB (Jove Marano, Reynald Medina, Edgar Badeo and Boy Mirando) 3rd, Sky Rocket (Pua, Yamco, Ismael Viloria and Erwin Atienza) 4th and Davao Eagles (Jojo Paciano, Donjie Mapalad, Bobby Jamora and Atoi Ramos) 5th.
Habagat swept the Doubles Event with the tandem of Solomon and Noto champion and the doubles of Perez and Valencia at first runner-up. Che Che Villanueva and Ruel Pingol of Rotunda 2 was the second runner-up in the Doubles Event.
Andro Tismo was the Singles Event champion in the Men's Division with Yamco in 2nd and Maranca 3rd. In the Ladies Division, Cheng Herosa bagged the crown with Irene Aril 2nd and Ellen Bernabe 3rd.
Solomon was crowned All Events champion in the Men's Division with Bautista 2nd and Omar Valdez 3rd. Herosa was the All Events Ladies Champion with Rachel Tismo coming in at 2nd and Irene Pua 3rd.
The event was organized by the Unified Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Riyadh (UFTBR) headed by Noto - UFTBR chairman, Cesar De Mesa - event chairman, Armin Isles, Irene Pua, Bong Solomon, Rita Sison, Pau Feria, Phines Pingol, Cristy Jesena, Cecille Solomon and KC Enriquez.
Philippine Airlines, the main sponsor of the event, awarded two round trip tickets to Manila to the Masters champion. Other event sponsors were Luna via Fathi Abdulaziz and Metrobank via Cef Chua. UFTBR thanked all the sponsors, bowlers, families and friends for their support and participation and making this year's Haj Goodwill Games a success.
