It was shocking to note and read that at least 15 persons were killed and another 20 wounded at a shooting on Thursday at a community college in Roseburg, Oregon, in the United States. What the gunman did was an act of terror that led to the loss of innocent lives. Americans' love for the gun is unique with the country virtually under the gun lobby's thumb, with all politicians fearing this lobby. This allows for citizens to obtain firearms easily in the name of protection. The gruesome killing in the Oregon is a clarion call for the US to implement laws that restrict people's access to guns.
