IRAN has commended efforts of the Kingdom to effectively tackle the situation after the stampede in Mina during the Haj. During a meeting late Wednesday with Minister of Health Khaled Bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Hashimi, said Iran appreciates the government of the Kingdom's dexterous handling of the incident by providing all medical and ambulance services to the victims. He said Iran understands the difficult task undertaken by the Saudi government and the services it renders during the Haj season and the dedication it shows in carrying them out, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. At the end of the meeting the Iranian minister said the stampede was “something out of people's control.” The two ministers discussed bilateral relations, in addition to the current medical situation of Iranian pilgrims, mechanisms to transport those who passed away during the Mina stampede, and following up on treatment of those injured and hospitalized. Al-Falih conveyed the condolences of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to the Iranian government and the families of the deceased, asserting Saudi Arabia's willingness to cooperate with the Iranian government on all issues. The two ministers agreed to transport the bodies of the identified dead Iranians as soon as possible and continue to communicate to identify the rest and take care of the situation of the injured.
