JEDDAH — The National Water Company (NWC) has pumped 10 million cubic meters of water into Makkah and other holy sites to meet the needs of pilgrims and residents of the city at the same time, said Abdullah Al-Hussayyen, minister of Water and Electricity. The company pumped water from the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC). Al-Shuaiba Desalination Plant (1-2) pumps 180,000 cubic meters a day while Al-Shuaiba Desalination Plant (3) pumps 460,000 cubic meters of water a day and Wadi Malkan Project pumps 650,000 cubic meters a day. The latter pumps water to the Grand Mosque, Al-Hussayyen said. The minister made an inspection visit to King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Project for Zamzam Water and other facilities run by NWC.
