MAKKAH — All departments of Jabal Al-Rahma Hospital in Arafat near Makkah including the intensive care unit, emergency ward and outpatient clinics have been readied to serve the guests of God, ahead of the annual pilgrimage, said Dr. Wael Hamzah Motair, director of the hospital. “Our hospital is located close to Jabal Al-Rahma mountain in Arafat and we provide integrated health services to pilgrims,” Dr. Motair said. “We have 20 outpatient clinics to deal with various health conditions.” The hospital has a total of 140 beds including 17 for intensive care, six for resuscitation, three for surgical operations, two for endoscopy, four for dialysis and one for delivery. “We have also readied our pharmacy, medical statistics and registration departments to provide the best possible services to pilgrims,” Dr. Motair said. Speaking about support services, the director said the hospital's laboratory is equipped with advanced facilities to conduct various medical tests. “There is an X-ray unit equipped with modern devices, including digital and sonar ones,” he explained. Dr. Motair said this year the hospital has set up a special hall with 24 beds to treat sunstroke patients during Haj. The hospital has 334 employees including doctors, nurses and administrative staff who are Health Ministry employees deployed on Haj duty. “These employees are provided with proper housing facilities in a building, allocating 380 beds for men and 95 for women,” the director said. The hospital has already treated 6,133 patients at its outpatient clinics and 522 patients at the emergency ward during this Haj season. “We have also admitted 219 patients and conducted three major surgeries,” the director concluded.
