DAMMAM — King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) announced it has a total of 36 different airlines connecting to 57 different destinations. Airport Director Yousif Al-Thahri said the facility hosts three European airlines. “Lufthansa Airline is connecting Dammam to Frankfurt, KLM Airline is connecting Dammam to Amsterdam and the Turkish Airlines are connecting Dammam to Istanbul and to other cities. The airport has a strategic location in the Easter Province. It is located in the biggest city in the province and it is in constant development and expansion,” said Al-Thahri. He added the number of passengers departing from the airport have increased in the year 2015 in comparison to the preceding year. “In the first six months of 2015, the number of passengers reached five million. That is 12.2 percent more than the number of passengers during the first six months of 2014 and it is in a substantial increase. The airport has flights connecting to 44 international destinations and 13 national destinations,” said Al-Thahri. He also said the airport is equipped with the latest safety and security and customer satisfaction technology. “We have 10 interactive guides installed in various locations within the airport to help the visitors with their inquiries,” said Al-Thahri.
