Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs, visits Al-Noor specialist hospital in Makkah to inquire about the welfare of pilgrims injured in Friday's crane accident at the Grand Mosque. — AP Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, head of the Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques Affairs, said that it is the duty of every Muslim to perform Haj on behalf of the martyrs of the crane collapse tragedy. Al-Sudais visited the injured victims of the crane collapse accidents on Sunday. “As Muslims, we should pray for the deceased, donate to charity and perform Haj on behalf of the martyrs. The injured are being provided proper medical care to help them continue their pilgrimage,” Al-Sudais was quoted as saying by Makkah Arabic daily on Monday. He said the Kingdom treats the pilgrims as Guests of Allah and so the injured were visited by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. “The incident happened due to strong winds and heavy rains,” said Al-Sudais. Meanwhile, Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal has ordered health officials to provide four carriages equipped with medical equipment and staff to transport injured pilgrims and help them complete their Haj. Two of the carriages are in Mina and two are in Makkah, said Makkah Health Director Dr. Mostafa Baljoun, adding that the security authorities have provided a tent to set up an infirmary for the injured pilgrims. Severely injured pilgrims will be helped by paramedics, said Baljoun.
