Dr. Mohammed Al-Suwaiyel (fourth from left), Minister of Communications and Information Technology, accompanied by Habib Al-Shanqeeti, Governor in charge of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, and a number of senior managers from the Ministry and the Commission during the visit Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) has received a special delegation led by Dr. Mohammed Al-Suwaiyel, Minister of Communications and Information Technology as part of the Ministry's commitment to review preparations for the 2015 Haj season. Accompanying the Minister were Habib Al-Shanqeeti, Governor in charge of the Communications and Information Technology Commission, and a number of senior managers from the Ministry and the Commission. The special delegation was received by Ahmed Farroukh, CEO of Mobily; Eng. Mazyad bin Nasser Al-Harbi, Chief Technology Officer in Mobily; the Chairman of the Haj Committee; and members of the senior management at Mobily's Headquarters in Muzdalifah. During the special visit, Mobily's senior leadership held discussions with the minister and other delegates, while the Haj team reviewed Mobily's special preparations to facilitate uninterrupted mobile services during the pilgrimage season. Mobily has executed multiple development projects to further improve the network infrastructure in Mashaer area and the wider Central Region. Mobily extends its network coverage by linking moving and stationary towers including the Jamaraat Bridge to ensure smooth and easy transmission of domestic and international calls. Ahmed Farroukh assured that Mobily continues to work closely with the Ministry in supporting the government's interest in making the pilgrimage a wonderful experience for millions of pilgrims from different races and nations coming together solely to worship Allah. “The Haj season represents an extraordinary period in which Mobily continues to improve its network coverage supported by world-class technologies. The pilgrimage is one of the largest gatherings where the presence of millions of people in a single location requires telecom operators to significantly improve capacity to the highest possible level,” AlFarroukh added. As a testimony to its leadership position in the Kingdom's telecommunications sector, Mobily has announced an integrated plan covering all operational units during the pilgrimage season.
