RIYADH — Dr. Mansoor Memon and his wife Dr. Erum Qalbani bid farewell to outgoing Pakistani Defense Attaché Brigadier Tahir Gulzar Malik, Head of Chancery Abbas Sarwar Qureshi and their families at a luncheon at a local restaurant here. Pakistani Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq also graced the occasion along with several other community leaders and senior embassy officials. Speaking at the ceremony, the Memons said their memories of the outgoing diplomats would always remain in their hearts. “Qureshi is a young and committed career diplomat and we foresee his future with full of success stories,” Dr. Memon said. “Brigadier Malik is a remarkable person and his tenure in the Kingdom as defense attaché proved to be a successful one. We wish him all the best,” he added. Both diplomats thanked the hosts and participants of the farewell party. Meanwhile, well-known writer Mubasher Anwer hosted another farewell dinner in honor of the outgoing diplomats. Both diplomats thanked the host for the warm farewell. They also shared with the audience some of the happy moments during their stay in Riyadh. They thanked the community in general for being very supportive and said they will always remember with fondness the love and dedication of their fellow countrymen, who they said are enlightened and hard working. Community members admired the services rendered by the two diplomats and said they had performed their duties outstandingly well and their invaluable services will always be remembered. The event was attended by several embassy officials and prominent community members. The meeting conveyed condolences to noted businessman Asghar Qureshi on the death of his elder brother last week.
