The Civil Defense on Sunday started implementing its Haj plan with the stationing of 15,120 personnel in various parts of Makkah, the Grand Mosque and the Holy Sites. Maj.Gen. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Mubadal, commander of the Civil Defense Haj, forces said they will intervene fast in any emergency situation.
Meanwhile, the road security forces, stationed along checkpoints, said they prevented 111,856 pilgrims without Haj permits and 41,835 violating vehicles from entering Makkah during the past 25 days.
The forces said the expatriates holding iqamas (residence permits) not issued by the Makkah passport department (Jawazat) will not be allowed to enter the holy city.
No one without Haj permit will be allowed to enter Makkah or the Holy Sites during the entire ban period from Aug. 10 to Sept. 23.
