Saleh Fareed Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — The King Salman Youth Center (KSYC) has launched a new initiative, called Khattet, that will see speakers address important life skills for young people. The initiative, which will be launched at King Abdulaziz University on Wednesday, includes five sessions covering life skills such as planning and scheduling, saving and investment, communication skills, and measuring personal improvement. In its first round, Khattet will travel to four of the Kingdom's major cities. Speakers include Ibrahim Alwi, Khaled Alsaber, Kamal Abdulaal, Fahd Alsnidi and Ibrahim Niyaz. The executive director for KSYC, Hani Almoqbil, said: “KSYC is concerned with supporting and empowering youth in our society and encouraging their entrepreneurial spirit. We aim to participate in developing a creative and determinant leading generation.” The Khattet initiative grew out of a study by KSYC that showed that 74 percent of Saudi mem believe that planning is complicated and needs special understanding. “This is why we have come up with this series of lectures to increase the awareness of youth about planning concepts in different areas, and supporting them with the right skills to plan and execute their own goals,” Almoqbil said. He added that KSYC would expand Khattet to cover new areas in coming years.
