JEDDAH — Dr. Abdul Baqui has been appointed as new principal of Bangladesh International School (English Section) Jeddah. Recently he handed over the joining letter to Kazi Neamul Bashir, chairman of school governing board (SGB). Ghiasuddin Mahmood, vice chairman, SGB and Mohd. Abdul Kaium, senior vice principal of the school attended the occasion. Baqui is an Australian national of Bangladeshi origin and in his career he was a Commonwealth Scholar under the British Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Commission. He studied at Manchester University. He has more than 20 years of teaching experience in UK, Australia, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. He has also worked for UNDP and World Bank education development program. Baqui is married and has two children residing in Melbourne, Australia. The new principal expects all the support of parents, teachers, students, staff and community to make education a success in BISESJ in the future. — Rumi Sayeed
