RIYADH — A total of 446,000 Yemenis who had arrived in the Kingdom before April 9 and were living illegally in various regions of the country have corrected their residency status so far, the Directorate General of Passports said on Thursday. The grace period granted by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to illegal Yemeni residents will terminate on Saturday. According to senior Passport Department officials, there have been no instructions so far from the higher authorities to extend the amnesty deadline. Under the correction process, the Yemeni nationals are given visitor cards valid for six months to enable them find work in the private sector.
