Saudi Arabian Airlines has selected Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp., to install its APS 3200 Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) on the airline's new fleet of 50 Airbus A320 series aircraft. Hamilton Sundstrand has delivered more than 1,500 APS 3200 APUs to more than 70 airlines for their fleets of Airbus A320 aircraft. “We are very pleased to begin a new partnership with Saudi Arabian Airlines,” said Dave Gitlin, Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems vice president and general manager. “Saudi Arabian Airlines is a very important customer in the Middle Eastern region. We are tremendously grateful to have the opportunity to support this airline's growth with the APS 3200, which has proven its extensive A320 operational experience, low life-cycle costs, emissions and fuel consumption. In this partnership, Saudi Arabian Airlines will also have the opportunity to expand its MRO capability to repair and test the APS 3200 at the airline's own facilities.” The APS 3200 APU is designed and produced at the Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems facility in San Diego. __
