JEDDAH – A new initiative to help visually impaired pilgrims and their families perform Umrah has been launched by Ebsar Foundation. The initiative is a joint effort between the foundation and a team of volunteer ambassadors working to increase levels of community service in the Kingdom.
Ebsar's secretary general, Muhammad Tawfiq Bello, praised the initiative, which has received a positive response from the visually impaired.
Bello said the foundation has started preparations to run an Umrah trip in mid-August for blind women and their relatives, in coordination with the volunteers, who confirmed their ability to carry out the program.
Volunteer ambassador and program supervisor, Khaleel Abu Teem, said the initiative is part of the message of the team to improve volunteerism. He praised team members for their role in making the trip to be a success.
