RIYADH — The number of Yemeni national who have rectified their residency status in the Kingdom reached 407,516 by 1 p.m. Sunday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported quoting the Passport Department. All illegal Yemeni residents who had arrived in the Kingdom before April 9, 2015, are eligible to apply for status correction under an amnesty announced by the Saudi government. They will be issued with a six-month renewable visitor card, which will enable them to seek employment, education and healthcare. A source in the Passport Department said the card could be renewed on the request of the employer. Col. Safar Bin Mansour Bin Dilaim, supervisor of the status correction campaign in Riyadh, expected the number to cross 400,000 before the end of the grace period on Aug. 15. — SG
