Drake is ‘flattered' Meek Mill thinks he has a ghostwriter Mariam Nihal Saudi Gazette
Since being accused by Meek Mill of using a ghostwriter, Drake remained humble, silent and unreachable. But that was until he said what he had to say in a brand new single on Apple's Beats 1 last week and then once again in a bolder ‘Back to Back freestyle' on Wednesday. “Done doing favors for people / ‘Cause it ain't like I need the money I make off a feature. I am charged up,” the rapper said in his first diss track. And that was the beginning of a new trend. “Charged Up” was trending on Twitter and other social media platforms for those waiting for Drake's response. “I stay silent ‘cause we're at war and I'm very patient / 6 God is watching / I just hope you're prepared to face him,” Drake warned Meek Mill in his debut track. But Meek remained incapable. Twitter was ablaze with comments, further feeding fuel to the fire. Many memes surfaced as well as his instant response on Twitter: “I can tell he wrote that one though” followed up by another tweet accusing it of being soft. Upset Drake fans took to Instagram, Facebook,Snapchat and Twitter to voice their opinions. Even Canadian Councillor Norm Kelly could not help stay away from the feud and defended his “Canadian hero” by telling Meek Mill he was no longer welcome in Toronto. Meek also got what he asked for, in Drake's second hit at him. And there's nothing soft about it. Drake also took the time to mention he never wants to “hear about this again” and that Meek should think before going for the greatest out there. Of course some of the most popular memes were created out of ‘Back to Back' verses, such as: “ “You love her, then you gotta get a world tour / Is that a world tour or your girl's tour?,” the rapper asked in reference to Meek Mill's current girlfriend Nicki Minaj. There has been no response from the Meek household so far. For the record, Quentin Miller, who Mill claimed to be Drake's ghostwriter, refuted the allegation publicly. Miller said: “I am not and never will be a ‘ghostwriter' for Drake. I'm proud to say that we've collaborated but I could never take credit for anything other than the few songs we worked on together.” In the end, Drake's response to battle rapperHitman Holla summed it up best. “I signed up for greatness. This comes with it.” It sure does.
