The right approach for the ‘perfect' scent
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 23 - 07 - 2015

With the abundance of perfumes available in the market, both good and bad, finding the right fragrance can be quite the task. But with the right approach, the search for the perfect scent could be shorter than you think.
Bramble Perfumes is one of the most upcoming luxury perfume brands in the region. With its absolutely fresh and original perfumes that use traditional ingredients with a modern twist, the brand has quickly gathered a huge loyal fan base. Here are some tips from the experts at Bramble on finding the perfect fragrance for yourself.
Understanding how fragrances work is the first step towards finding your scent. The difference between a Perfume, Eau de Parfum, or Eau de Toilette is probably the most misunderstood part about perfumes. Simply put, these just represent the concentration of oils used in the fragrance, i.e.: how concentrated the fragrance is. An Eau de Cologne or an Eau Fraiche is between 2-5% perfume oil, an Eau de Toilette is between 4-10% perfume and an Eau de Parfum is between 8-15% perfume oil. An extrait is the strongest and is between 15-25% Perfume oil.
The next step is understanding how the different ingredients of a perfume make for a different fragrance and personality of scent. Fragrances characterized as fresh often include notes like fresh-cut grass, the smell of spring in the air, light citruses and airy notes. So you like being outdoors, a fragrance with fresh notes might be right for you. Floral is the most popular fragrance category. Such scents may include notes of jasmine, carnation, orange blossom, rose, etc. If you love the smell of flowers, this is the category for you.
Oriental fragrances are a bit more bold and sensual. Exotic notes like amber and vanilla are popular ingredients in this category and oriental fragrances are ideal for nighttime wear. The best mixtures of oriental perfumes usually have distinctive top notes of orchid, bergamot and mandarin which add a fruity-floral twist, or spices like clove, nutmeg and cinnamon to add overall warmth to the fragrance.
There are various other categories that match different personalities, but a quick look at the ingredients could tell you if the fragrance is your type or not. Once you've selected the perfume category and concentration, it's all about choosing a trustworthy perfume brand that uses genuine ingredients for a magical and lasting result.
Bramble recently added 3 new fragrances to its already impressive portfolio of perfumes. The new fragrances - namely Capture, Dazzling and Timeless – are unique and are different from each other in personality. Their revamped store at Burjuman Mall hosts their entire range and their showroom experts are available to guide you in finding your signature scent. — SG
