MAKKAH - The Kingdom will continue to strive for security, stability and prosperity of the world, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman said here on Thursday.
In his Eid message to the entire Muslim Ummah, delivered by Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Adel Al-Turaifi, King Salman congratulated all Muslims the world over and said: “The celebration by all Muslims of Eid Al-Fitr is a manifestation of cohesion and an element of unity among all the people of the Islamic nation, a unity that propagates the meanings of compassion, empathy, love and peace, as one of the noble values of Islam...”
The speech stressed that the foundation of the Kingdom has been laid on the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). As such, the King said, Saudi Arabia has become an ideal for unity, peace, development and construction at both the individual and the community levels.
"The Kingdom will remain an oasis of security performing its task of promoting the spirit of love, harmony and healing, and working to achieve the principles of justice and peace and fighting terrorism so that the world enjoys security, stability and prosperity," King Salman said.
"Since its unification, the Kingdom has endeavored to achieve wellbeing and welfare of the Ummah because it realizes the importance of being a home to the Two Holy Mosques," the King said.
Saudi Arabia has been and will continue to serve Islam, stand by Muslims around the globe and defend their legitimate causes, particularly the question of Palestine, especially at this critical time through which the Arab and Islamic world is passing, he said.
The Kingdom, King Salman said, hopes to achieve the noble meanings of solidarity and unity in line with the verse of the Holy Qur'an: “And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah (i.e. the Qur'an) and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allah's Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islamic Faith, …”
The Arab and the Islamic World is going through turbulent times, the King said, while stressing on the unity of the Ummah to face all the challenges.
"We have to stand in the face of evil organizations, the source of extremism and terrorism. This will only be achieved after depending on Allah and then the concerted effort, unity and depending on reason and wisdom to spare our countries and peoples this sedition as our religion is one of love and peace, calling for the acceptance and respect of others and coexistence with them," he said.
The King beseeched Almighty Allah to enable the Muslims to surmount the current troubles and for the Eid to be a good occasion to overcome pain and agony of the families of those who fell martyrs.
