Saud Al-Shaibani Saudi Gazette RIYADH — A total of 1,351 terrorists belonging to Daesh (the self-proclaimed IS) have been arrested in various parts of the Kingdom over the past eight months. A source reported the terrorists make up 29 different nationalities, but most of them are Saudis. “There were 1,058 Saudi terrorists and most of them were very young. They contacted Daesh through numerous websites and some of them have committed deadly terrorism attacks and others were arrested before they were able to do so,” said the source. The source also said the total number of non-Saudis who were arrested for being involved in terrorism stands at 293. “They included 117 Yemenis, 60 Syrians, 23 Egyptians, 19 Pakistanis, 11 Palestinians, 8 Sudanese, 8 Jordanians, 5 Indians, 4 Bangladeshis, 4 Bahrainis, 3 Ethiopians, 3 Chadians, 2 Iraqis, 2 Filipinos, 2 Afghans, 2 Malians, a Libyan, a Malaysian, a Qatari, a Lebanese, a Nepalese, a Somali, a Tajikistani, a Nigerian and nine with unknown identities,” said the source. He added four police officers were martyred while making the arrests and nine terrorists also died from injuries sustained while exchanging fire with security forces.
