JEDDAH — “I am very sure most of the graduates here (today) will come back to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a better future, because this country offers a very bright future for all those people who possess skills like doctors, engineers, accountants or any other specific profession,” said Pakistan Consul General Aftab Ahmed Khokher at the weekend.
“Saudi Arabia is one the best place to work while offering opportunities to many skilled professionals, and is one of the best pay master around the globe,” he added at the graduation ceremony of Pakistan International School Jeddah, English Section (PISJ-ES) for its outgoing 2015 batch at the school's Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Auditorium on Saturday.
The program began with the recitation of the verses from Holy Qur'an followed by the playing of the nation anthems of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
Consul General Khokher, who was the chief guest along with his wife Afshan, said, “It is indeed an honor for me and for my wife to be here to attend the graduation ceremony of PISJ. I am impressed with the excellent and encouraging performances of the students. I commend the award winners, the students, the staff and especially acting principal Amjad Bhatti for this fine result.”
All graduates (boys and girls) wore the academic regalia — ceremonial gowns and square academic cap — and received shields, diplomas and certificates.
He said, “This school is providing education to more than 4,500 students and is representative of Pakistan in Saudi Arabia. I am sure most of the graduates will come back and serve this country once again and that is the way relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia will be further strengthened.”
Renowned Pakistani Saudi community member Dr. Akbar Khan Niazi was the guest of honor at the ceremony. He congratulated all the graduates and wished them luck. He announced his plans to build a medical university for girls in Jeddah.
Consul Press and Link Officer Sohail Ali Khan, School Management Committee (SMC) members Hamid Basheer, Tahir Malik, Akhtar Qureshi, Faisal Khan, Kamran Ahmed Butt, parents, teachers, students and media persons were also among the guest.
Acting Principal Amjad Bhatti welcomed the guests, parents, members of SMC, staff and students. He thanked Khokher for attending the event and lauded his constant support in the development of this institution. He also thanked Dr. Niazi for attending the event and wished a brilliant future for the outstanding graduates.
Students presented famous Punjabi poem “Bunyan” of Anwar Maqsood. Junior school's students performed a beautiful tableau. The hosts of the program were Amna Khalid, Mahnoor Ahmad, Shahzar Khan and Sohaib Khalid.
The program came to an end with the cutting of a cake.
