JEDDAH — Pakistan Consul General Aftab Ahmed Khokher said that the issue over the eviction of Pakistan International School Jeddah - Al Aziziah building would be resolved soon.
Intense talks are in-progress on high level with the officials of Ministry of Education in this regards, said Khoker, who was the chief guest at a school function on Quaid-e-Azam Day recently.
The gathering witnessed the attendance of large number of students, teachers, staffs, distinguished community members included deputy consul general and link officer of school Asif Hasan Maimon, School Management Council (SMC) chairman Fazal Subhan and principal Mohammed Bilal.
Khokher said: "I am confident that through genuine negotiations with the officials of ministry the extension of lease of school building would be resolved soon as Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have strong brotherly relations."
He encouraged students to mold their lives in accordance with the teachings and principles of Quid-e-Azam.
"We ought to always to think positive, progressive and concentrate on building the soft image of Pakistan in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammed Ali Jinnah."
Subhan also paid rich tribute to the founder of Pakistan. "All nationaL issues could be resolved if we adhere on unity, faith and discipline the teaching of Quaid-e- Azam."
He recalled about the problems of school when the SMC was formed. "We overcome them by the support of the then ambassador and present consul general."
Subhan expressed his gratitude to the Custodian of Two Holy Mosque King Abdullah and his government on the strong condemnation of the barbaric attack on the army public school in Peshawar, and sent condolences to the parents of 132 children and families of 9 staff members.
Bilal said Quaid-e-Azam's honesty, vision and wisdom was unique that is why he succeeded to make Pakistan in very short period without war or violence.
Earlier, the function started with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur'an by Hafiz Mohammed Saud.
Naat was presented by Ahmad-ur-Rehman, a student of grade 12. Ali Reza, Talal Khan, Owais Ali and Ahmad-ur-Rehman presented the national song.
Mohammed Abdullah Nasir and Dawood Kamran, students of grades 9 and 12, delivered speeches in Urdu and English on Quaid-e-Azam respectively. Shakir Nadeem, a student of grade 11, read out a poem on the school massacre in Peshawar.
The event was conducted by school teacher Qamer Junaid.
