JEDDAH — Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) organized a four-day Level I coaching course under the aegis of Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Iqbal Sikander, ACC development officer and former Pakistan Test and One-Day International player, conducted the training. In all, 20 coaches from different regions of the Kingdom attended the course. This was the second Level I coaching that was organized by SCC in the Kingdom and incidentally both were held in Jeddah. The course educator Sikander was provided support by Asim, PCB video analyst. Tapas Chatopadhyaya, Level III Saudi Arabia coach, was also assisted the Pakistani legend. ACC provides different forms of educational courses for umpires, coaches, curators etc. to Affiliate and Associate members of ACC. With the technical help from Asim the coaching stint was a unique experience to the trainees. The trainees were given classes in both theoretical and practical aspects of the game where various videos and films were shown from the high grades of training by top coaches. The videos of many international players who exhibit different techniques in tacking oppositions were shown. Nadeem Nadwi, CEO, SCC, and other SCC officials Qasim Naqvi and Sadiqul Islam were also present throughout the four days to supervise as well to monitor the proceedings and rendering support. Nadwi thanked Sikander and Asim for their support and meritorious service. The trainees were: Hasanat Ahmed, Mohammed Iftikhar, Hassan Malik, Javed Ahmed, Jawwad Ahmed, Mohammed Mazhar Abbasi, Meer Yahya Ali and Iftikhar Ali from Jeddah, Tariq Tanveer and Rizwan Qayyum from Dammam, Ahsan Ahmed, Imran Mohammed and Qureshi from Yanbu, Samiullah and Kamran Hadi from Riyadh, Shahid Shah and Arshad Raza from Madinah, Ahsan Riyaz from Abha, Liyaqat Ali from Jazan and Rizwan Hashmi from Al-Qassim.
