MAKKAH -- The holy city of Makkah was all decked up to receive Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, who graced on Sunday evening a grand ceremony held by the people of Makkah region in celebration of his ascension to the throne.
King Salman was received by Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah region and adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Prince Mishaal Bin Majed, governor of Jeddah, a number of princes and senior officials.
King Salman also received at Safa Palace in Makkah on Sunday President of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque affairs Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, sheikhs, imams and muezzins of the Grand Mosque, Kaaba chief servant Dr. Saleh bin Zainul Abidin Al-Shaibi and the family of Al-Shaibi who came to greet him.
In a speech on the occasion, Sheikh Sudais thanked the King for meeting them and highlighted the King's efforts for the Two Holy Mosques and worshippers.
Then, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques received a commemorative gift delivered by the chief servant of the House of Allah.
