A manga is a comic book written and drawn in the Japanese style. These comics were originally available only in print but now can be found as part of websites, apps and ebooks. Manga has fans worldwide. The government of Japan's Tottori Prefecture, which has produced many manga artists including Shigeru Mizuki, Jiro Taniguchi and Gosho Aoyama, is calling for the submission of cartoon works that convey messages to the world that “Manga Kingdom Tottori exists here” in Japan, the birthplace of comic art. Prizewinners will be invited to visit Tottori Prefecture for an award ceremony. The prefecture also plans to publish a collection of prizewinning works. Artists of all ages and nationalities may submit their works regardless of whether they are professional or amateur cartoonists. Submissions must arrive by September 9, 2015.
