JEDDAH – Sisban Holding signed a contract with Fairmont International Corporation to manage the first hotel of Fairmont chain in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in which Sisban invests nearly SR1.5 billion on the Jeddah Corniche. This came on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market Exhibition 2015 Forum, which was recently held in Dubai. The signing ceremony was attended by Ali Al Sharif, President and co-founder; Dr. Abdulrahman Almufarreh, Group Chief Executive Officer; Michael Glenn, Chief Executive Officer of Fairmont; and Jennifer Fox, President of Fairmont Hotels. The Fairmont brand is considered one of the finest hotel brands in the world and it is expected to launch the new hotel located on the northern Jeddah Corniche by the end of 2018. The hotel consists of a tower at a height of sixty-five floors overlooking the sea with a capacity of 350 rooms, in addition to a hundred luxury apartments that will be serviced by the hotel to become the first real estate managed by an international hotels corporation in the region. In addition, the project will contain a large number of restaurants, sports and recreational clubs, meeting rooms, and the hotel will contain the largest conference hall in Jeddah. On this occasion, Dr. Almufarreh has expressed his delight in the partnership with the Fairmont International to launch the brand in Jeddah City and in the promotion of hospitality high-end standards to be provided by the brand in the Kingdom, hoping that the deal paves the way for more future partnerships and develops the tourism and business industry in the Kingdom in general and in the city in particular. Dr. Almufarreh said: “In light of the growing demand for the tourism sector, the high-end hotel brands in Jeddah have increased to be one of the first priorities in the light of that enjoyed by the city of standing, economic and tourist potential in the Kingdom and the region, pointing out that Jeddah is one of the more dynamic and active cities and attracts regional and international tourists, in addition to its proximity to the city of Mecca and the need for a more hotels in Haj and Umrah seasons, in which the city receives millions of pilgrims.” The CEO of Sisban noted in his speech that the launching of the hotel will coincide with the launch of a number of vital related projects such as the Metro railway project in Makkah and the expanding of Jeddah airport with growing religious tourism development, stressing that the hotel would have a significant impact in the development of hospitality sector in Jeddah for being regarded as one of the world's high-end features. — SG
