The fee hike announced by the International Indian School Jeddah is not only shocking, but is also painful. It is especially painful to those parents who have three or more children studying in IISJ and have only a single source of income. The hike in school fees is unreasonable because the fees have been increased too much. There has also been an increase in school bus fees as if there has been a jump in petrol prices, which of course has not happened. I request the school authorities to cancel the increase in fees or to at least postpone them for one year. This will allow time to reconsider the hike and to determine if it is absolutely necessary and if so what a reasonable increase in school fees should be. Qameruddin Khan, Jeddah
