Published in The Saudi Gazette on 12 - 05 - 2015

RIYADH — The LuLu ‘Food is Great Britain' Festival was launched at all Lulu Saudi Hypermarkets outlets across Saudi Arabia last May 9. Simon Collis, the Ambassador of UK & Northern Ireland to Saudi Arabia, was the guest of honor and inaugurated the event at 11:00 a.m. at the LuLu outlet in Murabba, Riyadh.

The promotion will run nationwide until May 16, 2015.

Speaking about the British festival, Simon Collis said “I encourage everyone to come to the Food is Great week at LuLu Hypermarket, which showcases the best of British food and cuisine. This festival gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy a variety of high quality and popular food products from UK. I am particularly pleased that this event is being held with active support from LuLu's British subsidiary, the logistics and packaging center in Birmingham, a vital part of the Lulu Group's strong partnership with the UK.”

The British Week 2015 will be a much better experience for the customers as the event is organized with active support from LuLu's British Subsidiary ‘Y' International (UK) Ltd, in Birmingham. The British week showcases over 5,000 indigenous top quality British produces in various categories. Both food and non-food items are being showcased in the eight-day long festival which celebrates the culture, cuisine and industry of UK firms. Food items include traditional cheeses, cakes and other assorted delicacies.

Adrian Paul Crampton, Operations Manager officials at LuLu said that the idea behind the promotion is not only to bring a new variety of products but also to highlight different aspects of British culture. “This is an opportunity to present to our customers a different culture and tradition.

It is great to be able to showcase the range of British products and also provide an insight into another country. Through an extension of our varied promotions, this festival is unique as the goods have been specially imported for this festival, helping us showcase the best products directly to our customers.”

Some of the popular British food products on display include muffins, tea, pasta, noodles, coffee, cakes, pies, chocolates, cheeses, yogurt, bread, soya milk, juices, roast turkey etc. Customers will get genuine products that meet the highest quality standards, and have earned worldwide recognition.

During this promotional period LuLu outlets in Saudi Arabia would be decorated with huge and colorful replicas of the famous landmarks and icons associated with Britain.

As part of this event, shoppers have a chance to win free tickets to the UK through a raffle draw at the end of the Festival.

LuLu invites everyone to this weeklong grand event and hopes that its customers will come back to shop in LuLu as a preferred shopping destination. — SG
