I am writing with regard to the article "Why are Saudis being turned away from government hospitals?" (May 2). The difficulties that the patient in this article experienced are quite common. Being told that there are no beds available in a hospital is not unusual especially if the patient is a non-Saudi. I came across this myself when I was working as a orthopedic surgeon in Jeddah. This trend of turning away those who are in urgent need of medical attention should be stopped. Dramjad, Online response
