With regard to the article “Saudi in appearance, foreigner in reality” (Mar. 25), it is true that it is Saudi nationality, not qualifications or ethics, that matters. If you look at hospitals in the Kingdom, you will find that the heads of the various departments are Saudi doctors even though there are other more qualified and experienced expatriate doctors there. When a Saudi doctor is not available, a Saudi technician or nurse is made the head of department, completely overlooking the experienced expatriate doctors who have been working there for a long time.
