RIYADH — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, deputy premier and minister of interior, and Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, received pledges of allegiance from princes, ministers, eminent scholars, senior officials, and a group of citizens at Qasr Al-Hukm (Palace of Governance) after Isha prayers on Wednesday. Among the first to offer their pledges of allegiance were former Crown Prince Muqrin Bin Abdulaziz and Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Board of Senior Ulema Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Asheikh. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, the Grand Mufti urged the citizens “to offer pledge of allegiance to Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Naif, and Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman whom our leader King Salman has chosen for the key posts.” “It is easier for citizens to go to their respective governorates to offer their pledges of allegiance after the King entrusted the emirs and governors to receive pledge of allegiance. If it is not possible for anybody to make it, he can have the pledge at least in his heart with a feeling of obligation.” The Grand Mufti wished the crown prince and deputy crown prince every success and said the nation will benefit from the royal orders issued earlier Wednesday by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman who announced new appointments in the leadership and a Cabinet reshuffle.
