With regard to the article "Diplomats too have demands" (Apr. 19), diplomacy in Islam is not about politics. It is an onerous responsibility and demands patience and perseverance of diplomats to present and protect the best interests of their countries without meddling in the law and politics. Back channel diplomacy is an anathema to Islam and to all norms of decency, fair play and justice.
