RIYADH — Houthi militias are now resorting to suicide attacks along the Saudi border, according to Brig. Gen. Ahmad Al-Asiri, spokesman of the coalition forces and adviser at the office of the minister of defense. “The militias carried out heavy mortar and gun fire from across the border on Sunday, resulting in the death of one Saudi soldier and injuries to others.
The Border Guards and ground forces repulsed the aggressors and destroyed their capabilities,” Asiri said in his daily press briefing on Monday.
Saudi soldier Saleh Mania Mohammed Al- Muhamedh was killed in a barrage of mortar and gun fire along the border with Yemen on Sunday, the Interior Ministry said on Monday.
Asiri said the coalition forces also embarked on a large-scale relief operation. “One ship laden with food supplies arrived at Aden Port from Djibouti on Monday and returned to Djibouti carrying some injured people on board.
A plane, belonging to Doctors Without Doctors, was stuck at Sanaa airport as the arbitrary moves of the Houthi militia disrupted the departure of the flight,” he said, adding that the militias plan to harm citizens and prevent even doctors from carrying out their duties.
Asiri said a number of military commanders, including commander of brigade number 37, returned to the fold of the legitimate government.
