Samba unveils new global debit cards
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 20 - 04 - 2015

Samba Financial Group has announced the launch of the Kingdom's latest and advanced debit cards in partnership with MasterCard. The new range of debit cards will offer Samba customers even more value through a host of services and exclusive privileges and will be accepted at millions of outlets and shops both within the Kingdom and abroad.
The launch of Samba's latest range of debit smartcards is the result of the bank's long-term partnership with MasterCard. As a leading bank in the Kingdom, Samba has worked with MasterCard for over 24 years to offer its customers in Saudi Arabia the latest and most advanced banking services.
With the migration to MasterCard Debit, the agreement transforms Samba ATM cards into powerful global debit cards accepted at millions of shops, establishments and ATMs worldwide that carry the MasterCard name. This move would enable Samba customers to have direct access to their banking accounts anywhere they may be in the world giving them the convenience of payment choices with absolute ease.
“We are always looking to enhance the quality of our services for our customers, to provide them with more value and benefits that will improve their banking experience with Samba,” said Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Shaikh, Consumer Bank Group Head, Samba Financial Group. “We are delighted to be able to offer these new, state-of-the-art MasterCard debit cards to our customers for their convenience. We have witnessed a major change in how banking cards are used by consumers in the Kingdom. They are no longer used simply to withdraw cash or pay for services over the counter. Customers are looking for a bespoke service which offers them exclusive benefits and services that will complement their lifestyle, such as free airport lounge access and to avail of unique opportunities from time to time. In addition, they're looking for the very best security to protect them wherever they are, be it in the Kingdom or abroad” Al-Shaikh further said.
Girish Nanda, Area Head for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Yemen, MasterCard, said: “We have a long history in Saudi Arabia and are proud to be a key partner of Samba Financial Group. The launch of our new range of debit cards will provide consumers with a safe, simple and secure payment solution that offers priceless benefits both in Saudi Arabia and across the globe.” — SG
