Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman ordered the allocation of $274 million in humanitarian aid for Yemen, the Royal Court said in a statement on Saturday. The announcement followed a UN appeal on Friday for $274 million to provide emergency assistance to Yemenis. The Kingdom “stands with its Yemeni brothers” and hopes for “the restoration of security and stability,” the Royal Court statement said. The King also made telephone calls to US President Barack Obama and French President Francois Hollande. The Kingdom has carried out 141 relief and humanitarian programs for Syrian refugees worth SR706 million, according to Dr. Saed Al-Orabi Al-Harthi, adviser to the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the National Saudi Campaign to assist the brethren in Syria. Addressing a gathering in Beirut, he said that a number of humanitarian organizations in Lebanon lauded the efforts being carried out by the campaign.
