With regard to the article “Kashmir's Hindu refugees look to Modi for salvation” (Apr. 8), these west Pakistan refugees came from Punjab in what is now part of Pakistan. If the government of India is serious in settling them, it should settle them in Punjab and not in Kashmir. As per Article 370, a non-state subject can never attain citizenship of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. If west Pakistan refugees are settled in Kashmir, it would violate the constitution of the state. The government of India is playing politics over this issue since it wants to portray Kashmiri Muslims as communal. Ahmed, Online response
