MADINAH — Shaheen-XI emerged champion of the MCL MoneyGram CKB 2015 Tournament, defeating My Care Hala via Super Over after the final was tied. The championship was organized by Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC) and sponsored by MoneyGram Money Transfer Agency. Shaheen-XI, opting to bat first, posted 172 for 8 in the allotted overs as Wajid hit 44 and Khadim Hussain 61. Mansour and Sajjad took 2 wickets each, while Yunus, Sohail and Salman got one each. My Care Hala, in reply, was stranded at 172 for 8 to tie the match. Sajjad made 32, Musawwar 25, Yunus 25 and Asif 27. Rafeeq and Ashfaque grabbed 2 wickets each. In the following Super Over, My Care Hala set a target of 21 which was easily achieved by Shaheen-XI as skipper Rafeeq hammered 3 sixes on the first three balls. Qasim Ali Naqvi from SCC was the chief guest along with Sadequl Islam and Kashif Mirza. Other guests who graced the final and the ceremony were Imtiyaz Mughal, Farook, Ilyas Gul, Rai Mushtaque, Zeeshan and Zahid Ali. Naqvi congratulated the teams for putting up a thrilling final. Winner's trophy was awarded to Shaheen-XI skipper Rafeeq, while the runner-up cup was received by My Care Hala skipper Musawwar. Man of the Tournament award went to Mohammed Mubin, Best Batsman to Musawwar and Best Bowler to Sohail Bhatti. Special cash prizes were given to umpires, shields to SCC officials and special mementoes to tournament managers for their excellent services. — SG
