JAZAN — People have resumed their lives in the border villages in Al-Dayer Bani Malek district, south of Saudi Arabia, after the Saudi-led military campaign against Houthi rebels commenced. Saudis living in these villages said they were going about their daily lives as usual and welcomed the huge Border Guard presence in case of any emergency. Okaz/Saudi Gazette toured a number of villages east of Al-Dayer, Dafa, Wadi Hamr, Habs and Al-Yahya villages, and witnessed families going about their daily lives as usual. The families said they would die for their country and will not abandon their homes. Residents said commercial activities in their villages have not been affected by Operation Decisive Storm. A number of families interviewed said that they will sacrifice their lives to defend the country. They said that they will stand against aggressors and are ready to face any threat against those threatening peace and security of the Kingdom. Governor of Al-Dayer Bani Malek, Muhammad Al-Shamrani, said emergency crews are on standby and blood banks are well stocked. He added that the area's primary health care center was authorized to receive emergency cases and that all medical teams are on full alert. A number of people told Okaz/Saudi Gazette that the moment they heard the sound of fighter jets on their way to strike targets in Yemen, they prayed to God for the safe return of all pilots taking part in the operation. They also said they are proud of the Royal Saudi Air Force. Ahmad Ali Al-Jubaili, tribal leader in Samtah, said all Saudis are proud of the Saudi armed forces. “We have not changed our lifestyles and we are still having our weddings. We feel happy each time we hear the sound of a fighter jet going out to strike an enemy target.”
