Mishal Al-Otaibi Sauid Gazette RIYADH — The Saudi-led alliance, which launched the ‘Operation Decisive Storm' on Thursday, achieved its objectives in the first 15 minutes of its execution. Brig. Gen. Ahmad Al-Asiri, advisor at the office of the minister of defense, told a news conference here that the fighter planes of the allied forces achieved their targeted goal of destroying completely planes, runways, weapons, SAM missiles and anti-aircraft guns controlled by the Houthis within 15 minutes of the operation. All the fighters, which took part in the operation, safely returned to their bases. He denied rumors about any aircraft of the coalition forces had been damaged. Al-Asiri stated that he sorties will continue until the planned goals are achieved. He also noted that the land and air forces had foiled an attempt by the Houthi militants to gather and cross the border early on Thursday. “They have been dealt with firmly,” Al-Alsiri said, adding, “The operation aims at restoring the rights of Yemeni people and their constitutional authority. Our goals also include preventing any supplies reaching the Houthi insurgents.” Saudi Arabia has no immediate plans to launch ground operations inside Yemen but its forces and those of its allies are ready to do so if needed, Al-Asiri said. “There are no plans at this stage for ground forces operations, but if the need arises, the Saudi ground forces and those of the friends and sisterly forces are ready and will repel any aggression,” Al-Asiri told the news conference.
