RIYADH — The Shoura Council will vote on Monday on the report of its transport and communications committee, including proposals tabled by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, to severely punish anyone who issues electronic certificates without being authorized by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC). According to the proposals, those who run unauthorized electronic authentication business, give false documentation or forge signatures of concerned officials may face jail terms of five years or fines of up to SR5 million or be jailed and fined. They will also be named and shamed.
