JEDDAH – As many as 74,343 labor and residency law violators have been nabbed in the Jeddah governorate over the last four months, the Saudi Press Agency reported quoting security officials. Muhammad Al-Wafi, undersecretary at the governorate and supervisor of the security campaign, said the campaign will continue vigorously until catching all those who work in violation of labor and residency laws. Punitive measures will be taken against those who give cover or shelter the illegals. He urged all companies, establishments and citizens not to give job or shelter to the violators and there won't be any leniency toward the violators. The Directorate General of Passports and related security agencies started an intensive crackdown on labor and residency law violators from March 1 onward. The violators will face penalties, including up to five years' imprisonment, SR100,000 in fine, deportation and confiscation of vehicles. — SG
