RIYADH — Senior officials of the Ministry of Labor on Monday sought cooperation from citizens and expatriates to help nab violators of residency and labor laws and make the upcoming security campaign a big success. Addressing a preparatory workshop for the ministry officials prior to the start of an intensive crackdown next Sunday, Minister of Labor Adel Fakeih said the ministry and its partners involved in the campaign are keen to apply the regulations with firmness and justice, the Saudi Press Agency reported. “We are not happy to see any citizen committing violations in any part of the country. At the same time, we are keen to ensure strict application of the law,” he said. Abdullah Abu Thunain, deputy minister for inspection and improvement of work environment, said, “Citizens and expatriates should inform about violations. T he ministry will act swiftly and effectively on any tip off about violators received at the labor offices across the Kingdom. “The inspectors will carry tablet devices to record violations electronically and process punitive measures accordingly.” The ministries of interior and labor will join hands in carrying out inspections at work places across the Kingdom. Abdullah Abu Thunain said the inspection campaign is one of the main priorities of the ministry to regulate the employment market.
