MERIBEL, France — Switzerland's combined times gave it the edge over Sweden Friday in the team event at the World Cup finals. With each team winning two slalom races in the final, Switzerland ended up on top by .09 seconds when the overall times were added up. Wendy Holdener had put the Swiss ahead when she beat Sara Hector by .62 seconds. But the Swedes took a 2-1 lead after Mattias Hargin beat Justin Murisier and Anna Swenn-Larsson edged Charlotte Chable. In the final, Swiss skier Reto Schmidiger beat Anton Lahdenperae by .78 to force the tiebreaker. In the semifinals, Sweden beat Austria while Switzerland defeated Italy.
