I am writing with regard to the article “Delhi rapist blames victim for being out at night” (Mar. 4). While I cannot condone the raping of women under any circumstances, I wish to endorse the rapist's statement about women roaming the streets alone. Here is the wisdom in the Islamic prohibition of women going around unaccompanied by a mahram (male guardian) and following the dress code. In Islam, modesty is a part of faith.
